About me
Georgette Spratling serves as the Youth Services Librarian and Assistant Director at the North Miami Public Library in Miami, FL. She is also a PhD student at Simmons University's School of Library and Information Science, where she holds the position of Dean’s Fellow for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives. Georgette earned her MA in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida, an MA in Liberal Studies from the University of Miami, and a BS in Sociology and Social Work from Florida A&M University (FAMU). With over six years of experience in public libraries, she has dedicated her career and research to supporting underserved communities and educating librarians and library workers on effective engagement with these communities through various resources and innovative programming.
